One Million Trees Campaign

Rooting Peace in Our Planet: LWPF & The 1 Million Trees Campaign

Founded in 2015 in Nepal—the birthplace of Lord Buddha—the Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF) is a non-profit dedicated to global harmony, social justice, and cultural exchange. Recognizing that the climate crisis is the greatest threat to a peaceful future, LWPF connects environmental stewardship directly with peacebuilding.

The 1 Million Trees Campaign

Launched in 2019, this flagship initiative goes beyond planting seeds; it focuses on deliberate, long-term conservation. By restoring degraded lands, creating urban green spaces, and expanding forest cover, the campaign builds climate resilience. To date, LWPF has successfully planted and protected over 215,000 trees across Nepal.

How We Make an Impact

  1. Strategic Alliances: Partnering with municipalities, civil groups, and corporate allies (like Jyoti Bikash Bank and Sun Nepal Life Insurance) to scale up local planting drives.
  2. Youth-Led Activation: Engaging young people in urban and rural projects, equipping the next generation with practical "green skills."
  3. Preserving Sacred Heritage: Planting ecologically vital species that thrived during the era of Lord Buddha, merging cultural heritage with environmental science.
  4. Climate Mitigation: Capturing carbon emissions, lowering regional temperatures, and restoring local biodiversity to prevent resource conflicts and promote social stability.

Join the Movement

Securing a safer climate requires collective action. You can help grow a forest of peace by volunteering at a plantation drive, partnering through corporate social responsibility (CSR), or sponsoring tree clusters.
