Nepal–Japan Partnership

The Lumbini World Peace Forum has always believed in building bridges of peace through cultural exchange and collaboration. A significant example of this was the World Peace Exhibition held in Shinjuku, Tokyo in 2018, on the occasion of the 2562nd Buddha Jayanti and the beginning of Japan’s Golden Week. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Society of Nepalese in Japan for World Peace (SONJIWOP), brought together prominent Nepalese contemporary artists to share messages of peace, compassion, and unity through art. This Nepal–Japan partnership not only celebrated the timeless teachings of Buddha but also strengthened the bond between the two nations. By bringing communities together in a spirit of friendship and understanding, the exhibition highlighted how art and culture can serve as powerful mediums for promoting global peace and solidarity.

Nepal–Cambodia Partnership

Nepal and Cambodia enjoy a longstanding partnership founded on shared values of peace, cultural heritage, and Buddhism. Both nations are deeply connected through the life and teachings of Lord Buddha, who was born in Lumbini, Nepal, and whose philosophy has inspired spiritual traditions across Asia, including Cambodia. This spiritual connection has been further strengthened through cultural exchanges, people-to-people ties, and bilateral cooperation. The Lumbini World Peace Forum has been a proud partner in advancing this friendship by organizing initiatives such as the “Lumbini World Peace Exhibition” in Battambang, Cambodia, in collaboration with Sangker Gallery and the National Disabled Research and Development Center. These programs aim to spread Buddha’s eternal messages of peace, compassion, and coexistence, while also strengthening artistic and cultural cooperation between Nepali and Cambodian communities.

Nepal–France Partnership

In April 2017, the Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF), in collaboration with the Maison Culturelle du Népal, organized an exhibition of Nepali artworks in Paris, France, as part of the growing Nepal–France Partnership. The exhibition was officially inaugurated on April 3, 2017, by Her Excellency Ambika Devi Manandhar Luitel, Ambassador of Nepal to France, and Madame Josiane Gaude, First Deputy Mayor of the 7th Arrondissement of Paris, at the Mairie du 7ème Arrondissement (Town Hall of the 7th District of Paris). This special event brought together artists, cultural representatives, and members of the public to celebrate Nepali heritage, art, and creativity on an international stage. The exhibition ran until April 14, 2017, welcoming visitors from across France with free entry. Through this cultural initiative, the Lumbini World Peace Forum reinforced its mission of promoting peace, dialogue, and friendship between nations, using art as a bridge to foster understanding and collaboration.

Nepal-South Korea Partnership

In November 2017, the Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF) organized the "Lumbini World Peace Exhibition" in Seoul, South Korea, at the Nepal House. This landmark event highlighted Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and promoted the message of peace, creativity, and cross-cultural dialogue. Hon. Arjun Jung Bahadur Singh, Nepal’s Ambassador to South Korea at the time, graced the exhibition with his presence, underlining the significance of Nepal–South Korea diplomatic and cultural relations. The exhibition showcased Nepal’s Buddhist traditions and the heritage of Lumbini, creating a meaningful platform for engagement between the two nations. Through the LWPF’s initiative, the exhibition strengthened bilateral ties by fostering mutual understanding and collaboration in the fields of culture, peace, and environmental awareness. By bringing together artists, diplomats, and cultural enthusiasts, the event exemplified the role of cultural diplomacy in deepening Nepal–South Korea relations. The exhibition not only celebrated Nepalese heritage but also reinforced the shared commitment of both countries toward promoting peace, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable cooperation.

Nepal–Sri Lanka Climate Partnership

In September 2023, the Founder and President of the Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF), Basu Gautam, met with the Rt. Honorable Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dinesh Gunawardena, to explore the possibilities of building a collaborative South Asian network of climate change solutions. During this visit, under LWPF’s initiative “Sustainable Tomorrow through Environmental Protection (STEP) Tour”, tree plantation programs were organized in the suburbs of Colombo. This marked a significant step in fostering Nepal–Sri Lanka cooperation for climate action, environmental protection, and the vision of a greener South Asia.

Nepal–Greece Partnership

Under its global activities, the Lumbini World Peace Forum has been building meaningful collaborations across continents to strengthen the values of peace, culture, and environmental stewardship. One such significant partnership is between Nepal and Greece, highlighting the shared commitment of both nations to promote harmony and sustainability. Lumbini World Peace Forum and Naturefriends Greece have joined hands to advance initiatives that link peacebuilding with environmental protection. Through this collaboration, the two organizations are working together to raise awareness, foster intercultural dialogue, and carry out joint programs that combine ecological conservation with the universal message of peace. This partnership reflects a bridge between South Asia and Europe—uniting efforts for a greener planet and a more peaceful world.

Nepal-Egypt Partnership

Lumbini World Peace Forum is proud to be an initiative of the "Artist Exchange Program for World Peace and Harmony," a series of cultural exchange events that promote mutual understanding between nations. In a significant display of this partnership, a "World Peace Exhibition" was held at the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum in Cairo, from January 20-22, 2020. This unique exhibition, an initiative by Egyptian and Nepalese artists, was organized by the Lumbini World Peace Forum in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in Cairo, the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Kathmandu, and the Ministry of Culture, Sector of Fine Arts. The event was supported by Baala Art and BK Art Gallery and was a testament to the strong ties between Nepal and Egypt. The exhibition's inauguration on January 20, 2020, was a grand success, attended by cultural exchange experts from both Nepal and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Lumbini World Peace Forum appreciated the Egyptian government and the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum for their support, expressing hope that such exhibitions would continue to foster creative exchange and strengthen people-to-people relations. The event's goal was to serve and promote cultural heritage and histories, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to building on the diplomatic relations that were established in July 1957. This cultural and scientific agreement serves as a foundation for further collaboration and friendship between the two nations.

Nepal–Bangladesh Climate Partnership

Lumbini World Peace Forum and the Global Law Thinkers Society (GLTS) jointly launched the Nepal–Bangladesh Tree Plantation Movement in Dhaka under the theme “Green War, Green is Freedom.” The initiative, part of the global program “Guardian of the Earth,” brought together youth leaders from both countries to promote cross-border climate action stretching from the Bay of Bengal to the Himalayas. The event included tree plantations, leadership discussions, and the signing of an MoU between LWPF Founder Basu Gautam and GLTS Founder Raoman Smita to engage youth in building a greener, sustainable future.
