Ms Sadikshya Aryal is a women tech entrepreneur: a co-founder of Himalayan Innovations. With educational background in electronics and communication engineering, she has been actively involved in the energy sector since 2015. She is a young bpw representative from BPW Nepal and a young member of the Environment, Training and Sustainable Development Standing Committee at BPW International. Miss Sadikshya has recently won the Women Enterprise Recovery Fund by the United Nations Capital Development Fund. Ms. Aryal is an esteemed member at South Asian Women in Energy and a member of Women in Climate Tech. She runs Girls4rurals and Gaunbata Sanjal advocating for gender inclusive energy usage and green productivity and also has been given honorary mention as a global energy heroes by Stanford University. She has been extensively working for gender inclusive energy usage and promoting green productivity through Gaunbata Sanjal, an evidence based research driven platform of energy subsidy to women farmers in Nepal in collaboration with the Alternative Energy Promotion Center under Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. The platform has been launched with thousands of energy subsidy enabled women farmers in Nepal and partnered with Microfinance Institutions(MSME’s). Miss Aryal is also a graduate from Student Energy, Canada. Girls4rurals, a network of young skilled girls was started in 2018 to provide young skilled girls in rural Nepal who advocate on use of clean energy for production businesses and train young girls on maintenance of energy equipment. The Girls4rurals from Himalayan Innovations was selected at Youth Sustainable Energy Hub as one of the impact projects by the United Nations Major Group of Children and Youths. A case study on Girls4rurals was published in the “skills-development-and-inclusivity-for-clean-energy-transitions” report by the International Energy Agency during the Clean Energy Ministerial co-organised by US Department of Energy in Pittsburgh,USA.
